Trump Crushes Haley in the Louisiana Primary

Yesterday about 350,000 Louisiana voters went to the polls to vote in their crazy jungle primary. This is about 16% of the number of Louisianans who voted in the 2020 general election, so clearly only the most dedicated voters showed up. Donald Trump came in first with 172,000 votes. Joe Biden came in second with 143,000 votes. Nikki Haley was third with 13,000, Marianne Williamson was fourth with 8,000, Dean Phillips was fifth with 4,300, Stephen Lyons was sixth with 3,800, and Ron DeSantis was seventh with 3,000. Roughly par for the course. Still, Haley, who dropped out weeks ago, still managed to score some votes although they may have come from Democrats since it was an open primary. We probably shouldn't read too much into this, though.

The next contests are on April 2, when Wisconsin, New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island vote. (V)
