
The Democrats are ahead in Michigan and Ohio consistently. Unless something changes between now and Election Day, they are probably favored. North Carolina seems to be a done deal. Cooper is much beloved in North Carolina. Maybe in 2028, he could resign from the Senate and run against Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC). Then Gov. Josh Stein (D-NC) could nominate some prominent Democrat to Cooper's seat.
